BIG Something Shares “Tumbleweed”, The Debut Single From Their New Album [Premiere]

first_imgIt’s been nothing but an upward trajectory for BIG Something, the six piece rockers based out of North Carolina. The band continues to make a name for themselves with high energy performances, uniquely crafted setlists, and sensational songwriting abilities, fusing influences of rock, funk, jazz and more for a sound wholly their own. As the band continues to take the scene by storm, fans were recently treated to the good news that BIG Something would be releasing a new album, Tumbleweed, in early 2017.Due out February 24th, the new album will be the fourth release from this exciting six-piece group. The album itself takes on a darker tone than the band’s previous works, as singer Nick MacDaniels mentions in his discussion of the new release. “Tumbleweed is a post apocalyptic desert trip. It’s a little darker and heavier in tone and subject matter than our previous albums, but there are also a few bright spots and upbeat moments too. With all eight tracks having been ‘road tested’ for the past couple years, it’s a really nice snapshot of our sound and catalogue.”To get fans excited about the new release, BIG Something has offered Live For Live Music the first taste! We’re delighted to premiere the album’s title track “Tumbleweed,” which you can stream in the player below.“‘Tumbleweed’ is the album’s title track and inspiration for the cover art,” says MacDaniels. “The name tumbleweed refers to the main character of the song who is fumbling aimlessly through a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland hallucinating on peyote. He’s telling himself to just keep moving in order to survive.” The band’s drummer Ben Vinograd adds, “I love this song because it showcases the dynamic all the players in our band can bring to the table. From the opening line on, everyone has a chance to shine.”The whole band has a chance to shine on Tumbleweed, including Ben Vinograd (drums), Doug Marshall (bass), Josh Kagel (keys, trumpet), Casey Cranford (saxophone, EWI), Jesse Henlsey (lead guitar), and Nick MacDaniels (vocals, guitar). Recorded at the beloved Echo Mountain Asheville studios with Grammy-nominated producer John Custer, we can’t wait for the new album to be released!BIG Something’s new album Tumbleweed is due out on February 24th, 2017, and you can pre-order the disc here. Mane hits record-breaking hat-trick

first_img Mane rode challenges from Ron Vlaar and Alan Hutton before bundling home the rebound after Villa goalkeeper Shay Given had saved his initial shot to give Southampton the lead after 12 minutes and 22 seconds. Vlaar gifted Mane and Southampton a second on 13 minutes and 46 seconds as his poor back-pass sold Given short to allow Mane to bundle home from close range. Mane then saved the best for last when he curled Shane Long’s pass on the edge of the area past Given to seal his record-breaking hat-trick in fine style on 15 minutes and 18 seconds. Long then scored twice to extend Southampton’s lead to 5-0 before Christian Benteke headed home shortly before half-time to give the shell-shocked Villa fans at least some consolation. Southampton midfielder Sadio Mane scored the fastest-ever Premier League hat-trick against Aston Villa on Saturday. Mane completed his hat-trick in two minutes and 56 seconds as the Saints made a sensational start against Tim Sherwood’s side at St Mary’s Stadium. The Senegal international’s quickfire three-goal haul bettered the league’s previous best of four minutes and 33 seconds set by Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler against Arsenal in 1994. center_img Press Associationlast_img

CAF Organising Committee meets on Pitroipa today

first_imgThe Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Hicham El Amrani and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Mvuzo Mbebe, responded to questions on Thursday in Sandton from the media on issues related to the 2013 Orange Africa Cup of Nations.Mr El-Amrani in his general assessment of the tournament held in South Africa for the first time since 1996 said: “In spite of some minor problems, CAF would like to thank all the authorities in South Africa for providing a magnificent setting towards the organisation of the tournament. On behalf of CAF President, Issa Hayatou, we wish to convey our message of thanks to South African President Jacob Zuma and all for their effort in staging a successful tournament.Below are some issues raised at the media briefing; On the sending off of Jonathan Pitroipa during the Burkina Faso – Ghana semi-final clash“The case of Jonathan Pitroipa will be reviewed on Friday, January 8, by the Organising Committee. The Burkina Faso Football Federation has filed an appeal in that regard. According to the rules, the referee is the sole master on the field and is sovereign. During the first round, we reviewed some sanctions because we had deliberately decided, but because the referee himself acknowledged that he had committed an error of judgment. On Friday, we would know if Pitroipa is qualified to play in the final or not,” Hicham El Amrani.Officiating “Honesty compels us to recognize that there has been inefficiency in the direction of some matches. Yes, there were questionable decisions. Those referees that our technical department found inefficient were sent home. The Referees Committee is composed of human beings who are bound to make mistakes. We try to correct the errors if it is possible. However, what is unbearable is the behaviour of some officials or supervisors who insult CAF on bias officiating. We have worked on issues of arbitration, the composition of our referees and we will continue to do so. Some believed in the false accusations and this is unacceptable,” Hicham El Amrani.2015 Orange Africa Cup of Nations calendar“In the very near future, the schedule will be announced. For the 30th edition, the format will be similar to the 2012 edition in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. It was not possible for this year due to the lack of time, following the switch from even to odd years,” Hicham El Amrani.2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Libya“By the end of February, a preliminary Inspection team will be on site to do an inventory and meet with the authorities of the country regarding the tournament,” Hicham El Amrani. 2019 Africa cup of Nations“The call for applications for the rights to host the tournament will be launched in the second halve of 2013. Several countries, some through the press, have already expressed their interest,” Hicham El Amrani.Anti-doping controlsThe CAF Secretary General said to the best of his knowledge, there were no cases.Match-fixing case (following the scandal raised by Interpol) “CAF is following the case with great attention. We are relying on the various National Associations and authorities of their respective countries to conduct the investigations if necessary,” Hicham El Amrani.Tickets“56,940 tickets have been sold to date for the final on January 10. It is likely that the stadium will be full just as the third-place playoff between Mali and Ghana in Port Elizabeth. The elimination of Bafana Bafana did not affect the ratio of attendance at matches, which demonstrates that South Africans were not only cheering their teams,” Hicham El Amrani.last_img

T.J. Yeldon expects ‘heated competition’ among Bills running backs

first_img Bills’ LeSean McCoy predicts comeback campaign in 2019 Despite being a late addition, Yeldon believes he has a good opportunity to carve out an impactful role with the team in 2019, even if it means sitting back and learning from two of the oldest running backs in the league as he plays behind McCoy and Gore.“That’s a blessing. Coming in my first couple years, I didn’t have vets like that,” Yeldon said, via The Buffalo News. “Being here in this situation, I can learn a lot from those guys. It’s a lot for me to take with me in my future years. It’s going to be a heated competition. That’s one thing they told me coming in. There’s going to be competition regardless.” Related News Tyreek Hill’s meeting with NFL lasts 8 hours, report says Panthers to be featured on Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ With several players to share carries, Yeldon knows not everyone will get to touch the ball, which is why he plans on bringing the heat for next month’s workouts.”I feel like I’m a do-it-all back. I can run. I can catch the ball,” Yeldon said. “Making plays with the ball in my hands is something I do. (My receiving) is just a plus.” The Bills have an abundance of running backs, but the order on the depth chart remains in question as training camp looms. While veteran running back LeSean McCoy has been the No. 1 rusher in Buffalo, the acquisition of Frank Gore, T.J. Yeldon and Devin Singletary this offseason certainly shakes things up. Yeldon, 25, was selected out of Alabama by the Jaguars with the No. 36 overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft and spent his first four seasons in Jacksonville. He has made 30 starts in 51 career games, registering 465 carries for 1,872 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 171 receptions for 1,302 yards and six touchdowns, catching at least 30 passes in each of his four seasons. The Bills are scheduled to open training camp July 24.last_img
