Dave Matthews Band Welcomes Carlos Malta For Exciting Gorge Opener [Setlist]

first_imgThere’s no denying that the Gorge Amphitheatre is a magical venue, as the George, WA locale’s natural beauty was only accentuated by the smooth tones of the Dave Matthews Band last night. The DMB began a three night run at the storied grounds as part of an annual tradition that dates back to 2006. The band has hit the Gorge every year since 1996, and, with excitement at an all time high, the band delivered a great opening night show after opening sets from The Lone Bellow and Lake Street Dive.DMB opened with “The Best Of What’s Around” for the first time since 2013, and the hits kept on coming. “Big Eyed Fish” segued into “Satellite,” before tunes like “Stay or Leave,” “Seven” and the newer song “Bob Law” kept the party going. The band also had a special guest join them, as Carlos Malta sat in for three songs during the main set: “What Would You Say,” “Lover Lay Down,” and “Recently.”The band closed out their show with a great two-song encore that featured “Oh” and the only cover of the night, Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower.” Check out the full setlist.fm setlist, posted below. Sumner Newscow does not dignify point spreads which are artificial creations by humans. We believe only in the honest spirit of competition. Everything is straight up. Report Reply 0 Vote up Vote down Jim · 399 weeks ago I am shocked that ESPN has not been calling it the SEC National Championship game. I am so damn tired of them building up that league and thats the only reason so many are ranked higher than other schools that are more deserving. But here are two annoying things about it.First, there never seems to be enough cash, AND second, the college football bowl season stinks.Well, we here at Sumner Newscow have decided to remedy the problem. We have partnered with The Dore to have the second annual “Sumner Newscow-The Dore 2012-13 College Bowl Contest!”The winner gets $100 in cold cash. Second prize gets a $50 gift certificate to The Dore. Third prize gets a $25 gift certificate to The Dore. Now you can give a hoot about that Little Caesar Bowl on Dec. 26 between Central Michigan (6-6) and West Kentucky (7-5).We have the entry form here. 2012-13 Bowl contest. Go ahead and print it off.You have two ways to enter.1. You can hand deliver the entry form to The Dore at 114 N. Washington.2. You can mail the entry form to the Sumner Newscow complex at: Sumner Newscow at 22 Sunset Road, Wellington, Kansas, 67152.There are 28 bowls to pick from starting on Dec. 26.Please read the rules on the entry form.Deadline is Dec. 24. No exceptions! And have a Merry Christmas…Just a few things to point out when entering this contest.First, if there is a tie, the entries hand delivered to The Door will win the tie breaker over those which were mailed to Sumner Newscow. Why? Because The Dore is ponying up the prize money.Secondly, family members and those who work for Sumner Newscow and The Dore are ineligible.Thirdly, fill out ALL of the information on the sheet. I’m not going to hunt you down!Fourthly (is that a word?), one entry per person, and read more
